Vegas hotel has $6 million to renovate, replace roof
SANTA MONICA, Calif.
— Vegas hotel owners are mulling a $6.5 million renovation of their Villa del Sol resort after a series of fires swept through the building last year.
Romeo Cipriano, chief operating officer of the Villa del Valle Hotel & Casino, said in a statement that they are currently evaluating options to continue the construction process.
“We are fully committed to providing our guests with the best possible service, with a modern and spacious resort with a focus on hospitality and family, and will continue to monitor the situation and work closely with the resort and city to help ensure the resort is fully safe for guests,” he said.
“Our focus right now is to continue with the construction and refurbishment of the resort, which will help us continue to provide the finest in service and hospitality in the Valley.”
In the wake of the fires, Villa del Salmo Resort & Casino officials reopened their doors to guests in December to make improvements.
In April, they added a new concierge service to the hotel and a new restaurant in the lobby.
They also announced the opening of a new hotel lounge.
The resort, located on the Santa Monica Peninsula, has been one of the hottest spots in the Las Vegas Valley in recent years.
Last year, the resort was the first in the West to surpass 1,000 hotel rooms for the month of February, surpassing the record set in 2018 by the resort in West Hollywood, which was already the hottest spot.
The number of rooms on the island has grown to nearly 4,400.
In 2018, the hotel received its first-ever National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Fire Safety Award for the most fire-safe rooms on Las Vegas Island.
