Riverside villas in Boulder Ridge: A glimpse into the world of villas
The town of Boulder Ridge is home to some of the most stunning villas on Australia’s Gold Coast, with more than 200 built to look out onto the river.
The home to the likes of a villa that sits on a beach in Lake Titicaca, as well as a villas overlooking the beach and a luxury hotel, the property has been the subject of an extensive search for an owner since it was purchased in 2017.
“This is a property that was built in the 1930s and the water has never washed off the property,” Mr Hockett said.
“You can see the sand that was there as far back as the 1930, and it was washed away by the sea.”
Mr Hocksett said the property was not listed as a residential property by the Department of Planning, Infrastructure and Planning (DPIP), which would have required the property to be listed as residential.
However, the Department did say the property’s owner was “not required to register as a property owner and was therefore not registered”.
The Department of Conservation (DOC) is now in the process of taking a “complete look” at the property and its owners, Mr Hocker said.
The DPPIP said it would review the property before making a decision.
“DPIP will be consulting with local property owners in relation to the properties in question, particularly the water that flows through the properties,” it said in a statement.
The department has also said it was considering requiring that all residential property owners have an annual water test, including the property owner.
